Press
Glagoslav Publications is an independent British-Dutch publisher of literature in translation. Since 2011 we have brought fiction, poetry, drama, history and memoir from the Slavic world and beyond to readers of English, with a smaller list in Dutch.
The list now runs to more than 170 titles. It includes the first complete English translation of Taras Shevchenko’s Kobzar and the first novel translated directly from Turkmen into English, Ak Welsapar’s The Tale of Aypi. Our translators include Charles S. Kraszewski, Michael M. Naydan, Andrew Bromfield, Arch Tait and Marian Schwartz.
This page is for journalists, reviewers, booksellers, librarians and festival programmers. The facts, descriptions and cover images here may be used in coverage of our books.

What reviewers have said
“Tretyakov emerges from Leach’s biography as a linchpin of the interwar avant-garde: a masterful mediator, ceaselessly moving and relentlessly productive, connected to everything and everybody.”
Edward Tyerman, Los Angeles Review of Books, on Sergei Tretyakov: A Revolutionary Writer in Stalin’s Russia
“A Flame Out at Sea represents the apogee of Novikov’s artistic aspirations to date. It possesses a majestic sweep.”
Richard Tempest, Los Angeles Review of Books, on A Flame Out at Sea
“Still, in the end, Little Zinnobers wins over its readers. It is a lush and intricate celebration of the artistic process, which may not be an easy read, nor a fast-paced one, but offers ample rewards.”
Yelena Furman, Los Angeles Review of Books, on Little Zinnobers
“Through both of his works, disUnity should offer Kudryavitsky a rightful place in the history of Russian magical realism.”
Alex Bramwell, Dublin Review of Books, on disUNITY
“It’s a powerful collection, very well translated, and one which offers the reader a window into another world.”
Mandy Jenkinson, Historical Novel Society, on Death of the Snake Catcher
“All things considered, Naydan’s new collection of works by Vynnychuk is an invaluable resource, especially as an introduction for those unfamiliar with his writing or with contemporary Ukrainian fiction more generally.”
Helena Kernan, Slovo, on The Fantastic Worlds of Yuri Vynnychuk
